Description
This proposal was developed for the National Architecture Competition organized by IPASME for a strategic site located on Avenida Victoria, in Caracas. The project approaches collective housing as an integrated urban operation, combining residential use, open space, recreational activities and cultural facilities within a single territorial structure.
The masterplan organizes the built volumes along the edges of the plot, freeing large interior voids for community life. This strategy enhances environmental quality, strengthens the relationship with the site’s topography and improves the project’s connection with the city. The proposal seeks to transform a large-scale urban site into an active urban piece, where housing is understood not only as a residential unit, but as part of a broader system of coexistence, landscape and shared space.
The complex was conceived through a composition of residential bars and platforms that respond to the natural slope of the land, creating a clear balance between built mass and open space. In this way, the project explores a contemporary vision of collective housing in Caracas, with an emphasis on habitability, well-organized density and the creation of urban value.
